Printer: François-Charles Oberthur Fiduciaire. No security thread. Multicolored front and back printing predominantly blue, red and orange. Texts in French. Description of the front: Frame made up of geometric shapes in repetitions. At the top center, the mention in red "CENTRAL AFRICAN REPUBLIC" printed in a cartridge. Below, the full banknote number printed in black. The value "1000" is printed in the upper corners. The signatures, number and serial are printed in black. On the right, a portrait of Jean-Bédel Bokassa in military uniform. In the background, an African landscape with two buffaloes in the middle of the savannah. In the foreground on the left, a rhino. The value in letters "THOUSAND FRANCS" is printed in red at the bottom center. A single combination of signatures printed in black with "Le Directeur Général (The Chief Officer)", Christian Joudiou and "Un Censeur (Auditor)", Jean-François Ntoutoume Emane. Description of the back: Background made up of a repeating wave-shaped pattern in shades of blue. The value "1000" is printed in pink in the upper corners. At the top center, the wording of the issuing institute “BANK OF CENTRAL AFRICAN STATES” is printed in pink in an almond green cartridge. Two wooden statues carved on the sides.
