Central African Republic. Bank of Central African States. 1980-1984 Issues. Engraving of the front by Renaud. Dates: from 1-1-1980 to 1-06-1984. Dimensions: 159 x 83 mm. Material: Paper. Watermark: Antelope head. Printer: François-Charles Oberthur Fiduciaire. No security thread. Multicolored front and back printing predominantly blue. Texts in French. Description of the front: In the top center, the words “CENTRAL AFRICAN REPUBLIC” printed in red in a cartouche. Below, the full banknote number printed in black. The value "1000" is printed in red in the upper corners. The signatures, number and serial are printed in black. On the right, a buffalo with a bird perched on one of its horns. On the left, a butterfly. In the background, a tropical landscape with waterfalls. The value in letters "THOUSAND FRANCS" is printed in red at the bottom center. A single combination of signatures printed in black with "Le Gouverneur (The Governor)", Casimir Marie-Ange Oyé-Mba and "Un Censeur (Auditor)", Jean-François Ntoutoume Emane. Description of the back: Background made up of a repeating wave-shaped pattern in shades of blue. The value "1000" is printed in red in the upper corners. At the top center, the wording of the issuing institute “BANK OF CENTRAL AFRICAN STATES” is printed in red in an almond green cartridge. Two wooden statues carved on the sides. In the center, some modern symbols of the Central African Republic with two airliners, three trains and an operating mine. At the bottom right, the article of the penal code is printed in blue in a light blue cartridge. No known specimen.
