Central African Republic. Bank of Central African States. 1985-1991 Issues. Dimensions: 155 x 78 mm. Dates: 1986 to 1990. Material: Paper. Watermark: Carved wooden animal figures. Printer: François-Charles Oberthur Fiduciaire. No security thread. Multicolored front and back printing predominantly blue and purple. Texts in French. Description of the front: Security background with printing of relief patterns. At the top center, the words "CENTRAL AFRICAN REPUBLIC" are printed in dark blue. Below, the full banknote number is printed in black. In the center, a map of the countries of Central Africa with small miniature drawings illustrating each country. On this version, the outline of the borders of Chad is this time complete and the drawing of the first merchant ship has been deleted to allow the Bioko Island of Equatorial Guinea to be seen (see Pick: # 15). The value in letters "THOUSAND FRANCS" is printed in dark blue at the top of the card. The value "1000" is printed in white with a blue outline in the upper corners. The signatures, number and serial are printed in black. On the left, a wooden sculpture of two stylized antelopes and the watermark next to it. On the right, a portrait in official costume of President André Kolingba. A single combination of signatures printed in black with Le Gouverneur (The Governor), Casimir Marie-Ange Oyé-Mba and Un Censeur (Auditor), Jean-François N'toutoume Emane. Description of the back: Outline composed of geometric shapes in blue and purple. At the top center, the wording of the issuing institute "BANK OF CENTRAL AFRICAN STATES" is printed in dark blue with a white outline. On the left, an elephant and in the center, an African landscape with a giraffe and five antelopes. The value "1000" is printed in white with a blue outline in the opposite angles. On the right, the filigree and a wooden sculpture representing a seated ancestral figure. At the bottom center, the article of the penal code is printed in a light green cartouche.
