Printer: François-Charles Oberthur Fiduciaire. No security thread. Multicolored front and back printing predominantly brown, red and orange. Texts in French. Description of the front: Frame made up of geometric shapes in repetitions. At the top center, the words "CENTRAL AFRICAN REPUBLIC" printed in a cartridge. Below, the full banknote number printed in black. The value "500" is printed at the top corners. The signatures, number and series are printed in black. On the right, a portrait of Jean-Bédel Bokassa in military uniform. In the background, African landscape with a view of the Boali Falls. The value in letters "CINQ CENTS FRANCS" is printed in red at the bottom center. A single combination of signatures printed in black with "Le Directeur Général (The Chief Officer)", Christian Joudiou and "Un Censeur (Auditor)", Jean-François Ntoutoume Emane. Description of the back: Frame made up of a repeating motif. The value "500" is printed in the upper corners. At the top center, the wording of the issuing institute "BANK OF CENTRAL AFRICAN STATES" printed in an orange box. Two wooden statues carved on the sides. In the center, a scene of students in a chemistry room. At the bottom center, the article of the penal code is printed in an orange cartridge.
