Multicolored printing on both sides. Texts in French. Description of the front: In the upper center, the words “BANK OF CENTRAL AFRICAN STATES” is printed in green on two lines. The full banknote number is printed twice in black and green at the top and bottom of the design. The letters "M" in black on the sides indicate the issuing country code for the Central African Republic. In the center, the view of a commercial port with two merchant ships at the quayside and on the right a portrait of a young man in green. The value in letters "CINQ THOUSAND FRANCS" is printed in green at the bottom center in a frieze. Description of the back: at the top center, the wording of the issuing institute “BANK OF CENTRAL AFRICAN STATES” is printed in green on two lines.
