Material: Paper (deckle). No security thread. Printer: Bank of England Works. Front black and white. No back: Uniface note. Description of the front: Ornate crowned vignette of Britannia top left. Series and numbering printed in black. Texts in English. Signature: Thomas Rippon as Chief Cashier. All Rippon notes rare. This note was sold at £54,000 by Spink, Auction # 19031 (lot # 2075). Only one or two examples of the £100 believed extant and all probably from one 'find' - this £100 note was in that discovery. Probably the only example extant today in private hands and a wonderful note (Source: Spink).
