Material: Paper (deckle). No security thread. Printer: Bank of England Works. Front black and white. No back: Uniface note. Description of the front: Ornate crowned vignette of Britannia top left. Series and numbering printed in black. Texts in English. Signature: Thomas Rippon as Chief Cashier. All Rippon notes rare. Only a few examples of the £50 believed extant and those from one 'find’. This note was sold in 2019 at GBP 20,000 by Spink, Auction # 19038 (lot # 3070). Withdrawn 01.05.19445.
