Printer: François-Charles Oberthur Fiduciaire (FCOF). No security thread. Multicolored front and back printing predominantly blue and purple. Texts in French. Description of the front: security background with printing of relief patterns. At the top center, the words “Républic of Equatorial Guinea (República de Guinea Ecuatorial)” are printed in dark blue. Below, the full banknote number is printed in black. Below, a map of the countries of Central Africa with small miniature drawings illustrating each country. On the top of the map, the border of Chad is incomplete (1). The value in letters "MIL FRANCOS" is printed in dark blue on the card. The value "1,000" is printed in white with a blue outline in the upper corners. The signatures, number and serial are printed in black. On the left, a wooden sculpture of two stylized antelopes and the filigree next to it. On the right, a costumed portrait of Paul Biya, President of Cameroon. One combination of signatures with The Governor, Casimir Marie Ange Oyé-Mba and Un Censor, Jean-François Ntoutoume Emane. Description of the back: outline composed of geometric shapes in blue and purple. At the top center, the wording of the issuing institute “BANQUE DES ÉTATS DE L'AFRIQUE CENTRALE” is printed in dark blue with a white outline. On the left, an elephant and in the center, an African landscape with a giraffe and five antelopes. The value "1,000" is printed in white with a blue outline in the opposite angles. On the right, the filigree and a wooden sculpture representing a seated ancestral figure. At the bottom center, the article of the penal code is printed in a light green cartouche.

(1) Following the entry into circulation of the note, the government of Chad requested that the note be withdrawn from circulation because the route of the country's border was incomplete (see upper border of the note on the front).
