Note bearing the decrees of January 21, 1875, February 20, 1888, May 16, 1900 and April 3, 1901. Issue date: "Djibouti, le ...". Dimensions: 180 x 93 mm. No security thread. Watermark: Helmeted woman's head. Material: Paper. Printer: Banque of France. Two-color printing on both sides, predominantly blue and red. Description of the front: Background made up of small repeating geometric patterns. All texts are printed in red and in French. Numbering and series in black. On the left, a decorated frame has two values ​​"20" and the watermark. Below, the god Neptune holding his trident is seated on two sea serpents. On the right in red, the decrees, the wording of the issuing institute "BANQUE DE L'INDO-CHINE", the place and date of issue, the value in letters "TWENTY FRANCS" and the words "PAYABLE IN CASH TO THE HOLDER". A combination of three signatures with the handwritten signature of the Branch Cashier and the signatures printed in red of the Director, Stanislas Simon and an Administrator, Baron Hely d'Oissel. Description of the back: Monochrome blue print of a design consisting of two Chinese celestial dragons surrounding two medallions. In the center, article 139 of the French penal code is printed twice in blue and on five lines in two rectangles. Below, a rectangle with the text "BANQUE DE L'INDO-CHINE" printed in repetition. On the sides, two other rectangles with the value "20 FRANCS". Artist signatures at the bottom of the note.
