Dimensions: 172 x 112 mm. No security thread. Watermark: Face of merino head. Printer: Bank of France. Multicolored front and back printing, predominantly orange, red, blue and green. Description of the front: Background made up of geometric patterns and arabesques in repetition. Texts in French and Arabic. On the right, the value in letters "CINQ THOUSAND FRANCS" is printed in a medallion with Coptic motifs. In the center, a view of the port of Djibouti and the city. In the foreground, the mosque and the Government Palace. The issuing institute "TRÉSOR PUBLIC - CÔTE FRANCAISE DES SOMALIS" is printed in dark blue on a yellow background at the top center of the design. The numbering and the series are printed in black on a yellow background. The watermark is represented in an octagon decorated with patterns on the right. The note is not signed. Description of the back: Background made up of geometric motifs and repeated arabesques. Texts in French and Arabic. In the center, a view of the old mosque of Tadjourah surrounded by palm trees and plants. The value "5000" is printed in blue-green on a yellow background in the upper corners.
