Suriname. Bank of Suriname (De Surinaamsche Bank). 1919 Issues. Date: November 1, 1919. Dimensions: Unknown. Watermark: Surinaamsche Bank and the value "5". Material: Paper. No security thread. Printer: Johan Enschedé en Zonen (JEZ), Haarlem. Two-tone front printing in black on a light pink background. Description of the front: Frame made up of stylized leaves. Value in letters in the center. Texts in Dutch. Value "5" repeated three times in on the frame. The place (Paramaribo) and the date are printed in black in the center. Coat of arms of Suriname at the bottom composed of two Indians surrounding a medallion containing a sailboat. Below in a banner, the country's national currency in Latin: Justitia Pietas Fides (Justice, Piety, Fidelity). A combination of signatures in black with the Director and the Director-President (Voorzitter). Description of the back: Brown, pink and beige gradient background made up of wavy lines converging towards the center. Value "5" in the center and banknote number repeated three times. Law text in an arc above the value. Very rare.
