Swiss National Bank, fifth issue  (1956-1977)

For this fifth series, six new banknotes are developed: 10, 20, 50, 100, 500 and 1000 francs (Réf. Pick : # 45 to # 52 or TBB : # B331 to # B336). This is not the first time that a ten franc note has been designed and printed, but this is the first time it has been issued. This 10 francs Type 1955 and the 20 francs Type 1956 are the work of Hermann Eidenbenz and bring a beginning of modernity. The four largest denominations issued since 1957 are the work of Pierre Gauchat, who completely revolutionizes the range of Swiss banknotes ... Their composition and style present a unity of theme and form very innovative, by a graphic treatment very personal and a harmonious and sensitive correspondence between the portraits on the front and the themes printed on the back.
