Swiss National Bank, first issue  (1907)

The Swiss National Bank (SNB) was created in 1905 and is due to be operational in 1907. But this delay is too short to create a new range of banknotes. It is therefore decided to issue an interim series incorporating the model of the notes of the former cantonal issue banks. This provisional series consists of 4 banknotes with the following values: 50 francs Type 1907, 100 francs Type 1907, 500 francs Type 1907 and 1000 francs Type 1907. And to distinguish them from the old cuts, these notes are overloaded with a red rosette with the Swiss cross and printed on the top right of the vignette. These tickets are very rare today.
