In parallel with the sixth series, a new range of banknotes is designed and printed between 1983 and 1985. This seventh series is composed of six new notes of 10, 20, 50, 100, 500 and 1000 francs (Ref. Pick: # 60 to # 65 or TBB: # B343 to # B348). The designers are Elizabeth and Roger Pfund who originally won the competition in 1969 for the design of the sixth series! Only the Swiss National Bank decided to use banknotes designed by an another couple, Ernst and Ursula Hiestand. In compensation, the somewhat bitter Pfunds were commissioned to work on the design of this reserve series. As a first step and for security reasons, no information is published on the progress of the work. And when the eighth series was designed and put into circulation with new security features, this seventh series was no longer relevant and the entire production was completely destroyed.
