French Treasury notes 1947  (1947)

The "French Treasury" issue was created in 1947 for use exclusively by French and Allied personnel and troops in the territories attributed to France at the end of the Second World War. This issue consists of five notes of 5, 10, 50, 100 and 1000 francs. All denominations are without dates and without signatures and are overprinted with the words "French Treasury", "Occupied Territories" and a notice of validity "This note is valid only in the occupied territories". The notes were circulated between 1947 and 1955 by the "Paieries du Trésor for the occupied territories".
